The London Resort, one of the most ambitious projects in Europe, today released some of the results and feedback from its public consultation. The consultation revealed in detail how this largely brownfield, former industrial site, will be transformed into one of the most exciting destinations in the world.

The London Resort will be the first European development of its kind to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992. A new massive 535 acre theme park to be based just outside of London has taken a step closer to fruition with plans for consultation, new reports and local engagement.

The London Resort, dubbed the UK’s answer to Disneyland, is planned to be built on a former cement works in Swanscombe, Kent, just 17 miles from London. The first phase is planned to open in 2024 with the second phase in 2029. The estimated cost of the project is £3.5Bn.

This huge project will be one of the largest construction projects across Europe. Construction is planned to start 2021, transforming some seven million square meters of land. The London Resort when complete will be three times larger than any other UK theme park. The resort is planned to comprise, two theme parks, a water park and an entertainment district.
