Aquatica Orlando Announces the Grand Opening of The World’s Most Digitally Immersive Waterslide Experience

Aquatica Orlando announce the grand opening of its newest attraction, Tassie’s Underwater Twist, on 15 March 2024.

The perfect way to start spring, this is the only waterslide experience of its kind which promises to transport guests all the way to Australia’s Shark Bay, where they will glide through a vibrant digital underwater world set in luscious sea grass meadows and brimming with marine life. Guests will encounter incredible species such as manta rays, humpback whales, colourful schools of fish, a variety of plant life, sea turtles and even the occasional shark, all of which call the Shark Bay region home. All while twisting, turning, and swirling through a unique super-bowl element.


“Aquatica Orlando is proud to welcome the all-new Tassie’s Underwater Twist to our park, with its one-of-a-kind immersive experience and adrenaline pumping twists and turns,” said Brad Gilmour, Park President of Aquatica Orlando. “We are so excited for guests to experience this incredible immersive attraction that only Aquatica could create, while making unforgettable memories with family and friends.”
Set to an inspiring orchestral score, the 129-foot-long attraction is sure to evoke a sense of wonder and adventure in every rider. Manufactured by WhiteWater West Industries, Tassie’s Underwater Twist will also feature a synchronised video display, allowing guests to become part of the enchanting underwater world. Guests will experience the attraction in a two-person innertube, allowing riders to experience the thrill with a friend. The importance of seagrass meadows will also be highlighted through visual components along the path of the ride, encouraging visitors to learn more about seagrass meadows and the marine life that depends on them.

Orlando Theme Parks Going Cashless

Do you like to use cash at the Orlando Theme Parks well from next week you may not be able to at some of the major theme parks in Orlando.

SeaWorld and Aquatica Orlando along with Busch Gardens Tampa are transitioning to cashless operations starting 30 August 2023.

“Just swipe or tap your credit card, debit card, or smart device with Apple Pay or Google Pay everywhere you typically use cash. It’s faster, more secure, and convenient, so you can spend less time in line and more time having fun!

If you don’t have a payment card, we have you covered. Just stop by one of the easy-to-use Cash-to-Card kiosks located throughout the park to transfer your cash (free of charge) onto a Visa prepaid debit card that can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.”

An All New Slide Experience Coming to Aquatica

An exhilarating new water slide experience, Reef Plunge, is coming to Aquatica in Orlando just in time for Spring Break.

Reef Plunge

Opening March 2022. Splash, twist, and turn through over 330 feet of eye-catching translucent cutouts and rings. Zoom past a dynamic new underwater habitat that’s home to a vibrant array of marine life, including Commerson’s dolphins, leopard sharks, sardines, and other cold-water fish. Get ready to plunge into this all-new, one-of-a-kind adventure this spring!

• Riders must be 42” (1.07) tall to ride this attraction.
• Riders must not exceed 300 lbs (136 kg).
• Single riders only.

In addition to the new slide, Enhancements to the park include the addition of over 1,000 loungers and beach chairs with increased shade for comfort and two food and beverage additions: a quick-service pizza place and a brand-new beach bar in addition to upgrades to the popular Banana Beach Cookout.

Multiple attractions will also receive upgrades, including enhancements to several water slides.
