FastPass+ Frequently Asked Questions

What is FastPass+ and how do I use it?

Please check out the FastPass+ page HERE on the DIBB

Will FastPass+ service make it difficult to get from one experience to the next on time?

No, Disney suggest arrival window times Disney carefully consider factors such as the length of an attraction and the travel time you will need between experiences. Disney use this information when they build your set of FastPass+ arrival times for attractions and entertainment

How many FastPass+ experiences am I allowed to reserve access to for each day and for my entire vacation?

The total number of FastPass+ experiences available to you during your visit depends on several factors including availability and the vacation packages and tickets linked to your Disney account. Generally, FastPass+ eligible Guests are able to select one set of FastPass+ experiences each day for every valid theme park ticket linked to their account. However, this breaks down into two elements. The first 14 days of stay can be booked all at once 60 days prior to your first day. If you are staying longer than that you will need to return day by day at 60 days prior to the dates required to book Fastpass+ for the remainder.

Depending on availability, you should be able to reserve access to up to 3 FastPass+ attractions or entertainment experiences each day plus additional FastPass+ via in park kiosks or your mobile phone.

Can I select more than one FastPass+ attraction?

Yes. You can reserve access to multiple FastPass+ attractions or entertainment experiences—the specific number depends on availability. In general, you will be able to select up to 3 FastPass+ attractions and entertainment experiences each day at one theme park. For extra convenience, you can even make selections up to 60 days in advance of your visit (60 days in advance for onsite guests, 30 days in advance for offsite guests). However, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot the rides and attractions are “tiered”. This means you can only select one ride / attraction from Tier 1 and two rides / attractions from Tier 2. For example, if you select Soarin’ from Tier 1 at Epcot, you won’t be able to select Test Track as well. You would have to join the standby line for the other Tier 1 attraction or return another day to select as a FastPass+.

Once you have used your initial 3 FastPass+ selections you can then make one additional FastPass+ selection via the in park kiosks or via the MyDisneyExperience app on a mobile phone. Once that additional FastPass+ has been used or it’s arrival time has been reached you can make a further additional FastPass+ selection. There is no limit on the number of additional FastPass+ selections that can be made providing there is FastPass+ availability.

Can I use FastPass+ with Park Hopping?

Yes, once you have used your initial 3 FastPass+ selections you can make additional FastPass+ selections via the in park FastPass+ kiosks or via the MyDisneyExperience app on a mobile device. You can make these additional FastPass+ selections at any Disney theme park.

Will FastPass+ service make the attraction standby lines longer?

Disney states that it does not anticipate that the attraction standby queues will be any longer than they were before FastPass+ service.

Can I be spontaneous or does FastPass+ service require me to follow a strict schedule?

Spontaneity is at the heart of many Walt Disney World Resort experiences, and FastPass+ service gives you freedom to do what you want—when you want it.

If you change your mind while at the park and FastPass+ experiences are still available, you can modify your selections online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk. It’s that simple!

For even more on-the-go flexibility, download the My Disney Experience mobile app to select and modify FastPass+ experiences, plus access your vacation details, maps and up-to-the-minute information.

While FastPass+ service is a convenient option to help make your vacation experience better than ever, if you wish, you can still enjoy the parks as you have in the past. While you may lose the opportunity to use an attraction’s FastPass+ entrance, there are no other penalties if you change your mind and wish to skip a FastPass+ experience. Plus, all operating attractions not closed for refurbishment still provide a standby queue.

Why is so much advanced planning necessary with FastPass+ service?

MyMagic+ allows you to plan as much or as little as you wish. Either way, your vacation should be as leisurely and enjoyable as ever.

If you change your mind while at the park and FastPass+ attraction arrival times are still available, you can modify your selections online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk.

If I miss my FastPass+ arrival window, do I lose my opportunity to experience the attraction?

Disney understand that there are many unexpected situations that may arise and cause you to miss your FastPass+ attraction time—but don’t worry! If your plans change while at the park and FastPass+ experiences are still available, you can modify your selections online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk.

Please try to make changes to your FastPass+ experience before the start of your arrival window time. If you miss your time due to circumstances beyond your control, please speak to the Cast Members at the attraction.

In addition, all operating attractions still provide a standby queue. While you may lose the opportunity to use an attraction’s FastPass+ entrance, please be assured that there are no other penalties if you miss a FastPass+ arrival window time. The service is here to help enhance your vacation, not to cause you extra worries.

With FastPass+ Do I have to show up at a specific time for an attraction?

No—it’s better! For extra convenience, you are assigned an arrival window—usually one hour long—for each attraction you select. Show up any time that you wish during this window. Don’t worry about rushing to finish up a meal or getting delayed at another show or attraction.

When it is within your designated arrival window time and you are ready to visit an attraction, all you need to do is proceed to the attraction, go to the FastPass+ entrance and touch your MagicBand or card to the touch point.

While attractions usually offer a one-hour arrival window, shows and entertainment may require you to arrive during a more specific timeframe.

Do I reserve access to FastPass+ attractions when I book my vacation?

It depends on when you book your vacation. If you are FastPass+ eligible, you can reserve access to FastPass+ attractions and entertainment up to 60 days in advance of your visit.

Don’t worry about being locked in to a schedule—you have the flexibility to change your FastPass+ selections. If you change your mind while at the park and FastPass+ experiences are still available, you can modify your selections online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk.

Is FastPass+ service complimentary?

Yes. FastPass+ service is complimentary for FastPass+ eligible Guests with valid theme park admission.

How do I use my MagicBand or card when I have a FastPass+ arrival time at an attraction?

When you arrive during your scheduled FastPass+ arrival time, all you need to do is proceed to the FASTPASS queue entrance and touch your MagicBand or card to a sensor called a touch point.

Please remember that each member of your party will have to individually touch their MagicBand or card to the touch point, so everyone should be sure to have their MagicBand or card available.

If I don’t reserve access to FastPass+ attractions in advance, will I be able to experience my favourite attractions?

All attractions still provide a standby queue—assuming they are not closed for refurbishment. If FastPass+ experiences are still available, you can reserve access to FastPass+ attractions and entertainment online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk when you arrive at the park.

I am FastPass+ eligible, but I did not reserve access to FastPass+ attractions in advance. When I arrive at the theme park, can I still get FASTPASS tickets?

No. All original “legacy” Fastpass machines have either been removed or disabled. There are no more paper Fastpasses. On site or off site all now use the Fastpass + system.

But don’t worry! If FastPass+ experiences are still available, you can reserve access to FastPass+ attractions and entertainment online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk when you arrive at the park.

Can I use both FASTPASS service and FastPass+ service during one theme park visit?

No. FASTPASS (paper ticket) service is no longer available .
However, all operating attractions still provide a standby queue, so you still have the opportunity to experience many of your favorite attractions.

I have children of different ages, and they like different attractions and entertainment. Does FastPass+ service allow my family to do different activities?

Yes. Disney want every member of your party to have a great Walt Disney World vacation—regardless of age or interests. When you reserve access to FastPass+ attractions and entertainment, you select which members of your party wish to experience each attraction or entertainment offering. If individuals do not want to share an experience, you can select alternate experiences for those party members.

If people in your party do not wish to experience an attraction, they are free to skip it. However, children under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter the theme parks and water parks.

At select attractions, you can also take advantage of the Rider Switch option, which enables one adult to wait with children while another adult experiences an attraction. Then, the adults can switch and the other adult can experience the attraction—without having to wait in line a second time. You do not need to use FastPass+ service to use the Rider Switch option.

I’m concerned that my vacation will feel over-scheduled if I have to reserve access to FastPass+ attractions in advance. Will I have the flexibility to change my mind when I arrive at the theme park?

Yes. You can modify your selections online with your mobile phone or at a FastPass+ kiosk. For even more on-the-go flexibility, download the My Disney Experience mobile app to select and modify FastPass+ experiences—plus access your vacation details, maps and up-to-the-minute information.

While you may lose the opportunity to use an attraction’s FastPass+ entrance, there are no other penalties if you change your mind and wish to skip a FastPass+ experience. All operating attractions still provide a standby queue.

You’ll find that FastPass+ service provides you with the ability to experience some great attractions throughout the day with a shortened wait time. Don’t worry. When Disney suggest arrival window times Disney carefully consider factors such as the length of an attraction and the travel time you will need between experiences.

As with any popular attraction or experience, Disney encourage you to make your FastPass+ selections early as this will give you more opportunity to secure your favorites. FastPass+ inventory is available on a first come, first serve basis.

As an Annual Passholder, how do I reserve FastPass+ attractions and entertainment?

If you have a valid Annual Pass, please follow these simple steps:

    • Create or sign into your Disney account.
    • Link your Annual Pass or Passes to your Disney account, if you have not already done so.
    • Reserve access to FastPass+ attractions and entertainment.

As a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, you can plan 7 days of FastPass+ selections within any 30-day period—for 1 park per day. You can make your selections up to 30 days in advance of your visit, and if you change your mind, you are able to modify your selections.

If you are a Passholder who is staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in—for the entire length of your hotel stay.

Additionally, all theme park Guests can now make same-day, same-park FastPass+ selections at our in-park kiosks.

Disney FastPass+

FastPass+ is free and included with your admission ticket

FastPass+ is a Disney ride and attraction reservation system, a bit like making a Disney dining reservation. With FastPass+ you can make a reservation for certain attractions within the theme parks. When you make a FastPass+ reservation you choose a time slot to experience an attraction. When you arrive at the attraction within your 1 hour time slot you are allowed to use the the FastPass+ entrance to the attraction rather than the standby entrance. Using the FastPass+ entrance significantly reduces your time waiting in line.

Each person can book up to 3 FastPass+ selections in advance per day and then they can make additional FastPass+ selections via the in park kiosks or via the My Disney Experience (MDE) app on their mobile device. Just to be clear you MUST book 3 a day initially e.g. if you only book 2 you will automatically be offered a third which you must accept. You can always cancel or modify it later.

Use our free Disney FastPass+ Planner & Calculator to plan out your FastPass+ Reservations well in advance, with the DIBB’s FP+ Tool and it will tell you when you can book them. It is located on the right hand side of the screen in theDIBB Menu.

Additional FastPass+ selections

  • The original three FastPass+ selections have to be used before you can get additional FastPass+ selections.
  • One additional FastPass+ can be made at a time. Once the additional FastPass+ selection has been used, or after the arrival time passes, another FastPass+ selection can be made at an in-park FastPass+ kiosk or via the MDE app.
  • Additional FastPass+ selection can be made at a different park than the original three selections.
  • There is no limit to the number of additional FastPass+ selections that can be made following the use of the original three selections.

In addition to FastPass+ attractions, you’ll be able to choose from select Character Greetings, entertainment, and viewing areas for parades and fireworks. And if your plans change you can update your selections at any time.

You can choose your FastPass+ experiences through Disney’s website and My Disney Experience (MDE) app, up to 30 days in advance of each day of your theme park visit.

When you book a stay at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in for the “entire length” of your stay. However, this breaks down into two elements. The first 14 days of stay can be booked all at once 60 days prior to your first day. If you are staying longer than that you will need to return day by day at 60 days prior to the dates required to book Fastpass+ for the remainder.

Guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels now can make FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to their check-in date. They are not issued MagicBands, and they are not able to touch to pay.

Annual Passholder can plan 7 days of FastPass+ selections within any 30 day period for 1 park per day. Your 7 days don’t have to be consecutive and you can plan for an additional day as soon as one of your existing days has passed.

All Guests can make FastPass+ reservations at the FastPass+ kiosks located in the theme parks.

If you have not already done so, link your tickets, package or Annual Passes to your Disney account.

Make Your FASTPASS+ Selections

Fastpass+ replaces the old paper style fastpass. The only way to get fastpass will be either online or at special kiosks in the parks.
