Later this year Disney is planning to roll out a new contactless way for guests to access the theme parks and other features currently available via their MagicBands.
The Disney MagicBand wristband currently available to guests acts as an electronic park ticket that allows guests to enter the theme parks and attractions by just holding their band against an entry post. The MagicBand can also be used as a contactless payment system among other things.
Disney has now taken the features of the MagicBand and created a system whereby guests can alternatively use their smartphones or Apple watch instead of a MagicBand. Continue reading →
