Walt Disney World Reopening Dates after Covid-19 Closures

Disney plans to reopen its theme parks starting with the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on 11 July 2020. Disney then plans to follow this with the opening of Disney Hollywood Studios and EPCOT on 15 July 2020.

Disney Vacation Club resorts in addition to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at Walt Disney World will reopen to members and guests on 22 June, Disney Vacation Club properties in Vero Beach, Florida, Hilton Head and South Carolina will open on 15 June.

With Universal Studios Florida and SeaWorld Florida opening on 5 and 11 June respectively Disney will be the last of the major theme parks in central Florida to open its gates to guests.

Temperature checks will be carried out, social distancing will be required throughout the parks and guests will be required to wear masks.

Alterations to queue lines, reduced capacity and ride vehicle sanitisation along with parades and firework shows being discontinued is to be expected.

It’s an understatement to say that the past few months have been a challenging time for us all.  As we navigate the longest park closures in our histories, we’ve loved hearing your kind words of hope and seeing how you’ve made your own Disney memories at home has uplifted and inspired us all.

During this time, we know it can be difficult to plan your Disney vacation. Now more than ever we’re longing for the opportunity to come together with family and friends to escape, to celebrate, to re-do missed milestones, like birthdays and anniversaries and to make new Disney memories.

Universal Orlando Plans to Open to Guests on 5 June

This week the theme parks have been submitting their plans for reopening to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force. The plan outlines a phased reopening starting with staff on 1 June, Passholders on 3 June and general public on 5 June.

Orange County must endorse the reopening plans prior to submitting to the state for a final decision on reopening.

Similar methods for entry, queues and notices that are currently being employed at Universal’s City Walk will be implemented along with additional measures that will impact rides and attractions.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to Re-Open May 28 2020

Leadership at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex announced today that the visitor complex will reopen to guests effective Thursday, May, 28, 2020 with reduced admission, attendance limits and some attractions unavailable.

During the initial reopening phase, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will begin new measures and procedures in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations. This includes opening with limited attendance and encouraging advance daily admission purchases; requiring face coverings and temperature screenings for employees and guests; accommodating social distancing in queues, restaurants, and other facilities throughout the visitor complex; and implementing increased frequency of sanitization and disinfection.
